After you bypass the opening cut-scene, you will notice that the main menu is totally different and a lot easier to navigate. In this update was part of Psyonix’s brand new feel that has made its way into the game. If you already own Rocket League, you may have noticed recently that there was an update to the game. However, free to play will also be accompanied by a brand new look and feel. Now that the game is going to be free to play, it should drive in even more traffic than it did before. I can only guess that the reason Psyonix is making this decision is by now if you don’t own Rocket League, you probably wouldn’t want to spend $20 on it five years later. This is a very big and very smart move by Psyonix to make one of the most popular games in the world free to play. Now after five extremely successful years, Rocket League will go from a $20 price point to a whopping $0. It eventually made its way to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well. It launched first on PC and as a free PlayStation Plus title for PlayStation 4. Rocket League first debuted into the gaming world on July 7, 2015. For those unaware, Psyonix’s cars-meets-soccer game, Rocket League, is set to go free to play for everyone on September 23, 2020, at 8am PT/11am ET. ![]() It’s been a long time coming for Rocket League to switch to free to play.
